Midland County Young Lawyers Association
Who We Are
Welcome to MCYLA! What is MCYLA? MCYLA (otherwise known as the Midland County Young Lawyers Association) is a specialty bar association. Our regular membership consists of attorneys who are 36 years of age and under as well as attorneys who are over 36 and are practicing law for five years or less. Our associate membership consists of law students as well as those who are awaiting their bar results.
Our dues are $20.00 annually for regular members, and $15.00 for associate members. Our membership spans all types of law practices: Large, medium, and small firms, in-house counsel, the non-profit sector, solo practitioners, and law students to name a few. MCYLA allows members to serve the community, socialize, network, and enjoy recreational activities. People join our organization to network, to make friends, to be leaders. We have something to offer everyone, if you want to be involved a little or a lot. Whatever your reason is for joining, we welcome you and hope you enjoy participating in our varied activities.
MCYLA is a local affiliate of the Texas Young Lawyer's Association. TYLA is commonly referred to as the "public service arm" of the State Bar. TYLA's main purposes are to facilitate the administration of justice, foster respect for the law, and advance the role of the legal profession in serving the public. TYLA programs are designed to assist Texas attorneys in their practice of law and to provide public legal education services to Texans. All TYLA programs are accomplished through the volunteer efforts of our membership, with the cooperation of local affiliate young lawyers associations.
